The Missisquoi 02 table is a one of a kind table made of stone, gold plated steel and blackened Ash. The stone's shape and features were plasma cut into a steel plate, hovering above the stone to mirror it's origins. The Missisquoi collection is a series of numbered one-of-a-kind pieces that are born from reflections on building contemporary furniture in a natural, rural environment. The furniture attempts to illustrate a conversation between the fabricated and the elemental, a dichotomy of control vs. imperfection and autonomy vs. collaboration. The singularity of the end tables, each designed and built from a found stone, makes for collectible pieces of functional art. Each one has a unique presence due to its dedicated composition. They speak to our desire to reconnect with the elemental, with truth, and to bring the outdoors in. The collection of 'side tables' or 'end tables' debuted during NY Design Week 2017 at Sight Unseen Offsite.
